A home gym bench is necessary if you decide to make a workout bench in your home. There are many benefits that come with building a home gym. You will save on your monthly or annual membership fees, as well as not having to wait to use the equipment. Apart from this, a home gym bench is suitable for many different exercises such as triceps press, seated dumbbell curls, seated military press, and bench press.

You will need:

  • 2 Beams
  • 2 Planks Power
  • Saw
  • Wood Sealer
  • Electric Sander
  • Drywall Screws
  • Tape Measure
  • Power Screwdriver

Make sure that the planks and joists are 1.5 inches thick, but the planks should be six by two inches while the joists should be two by four inches. On the other hand, you need the drywall screws to be three inches long. You can also use a hand saw instead of an electric saw and a piece of sandpaper instead of an electric sander.

Step 1 – Measure the length of the Magistracy

To measure how long your bench needs to be, it has to be measured from head to buttocks. Keep this measurement as a guide and mark it on the wooden planks as a guide for when you cut it later.

Step 2 – Cut the planks

Use a hacksaw or power saw to cut the irons to make the top of your bench. Cut seven twelve-inch pieces off the joists as well.

Step 3 – Building the bench cover

Now it’s time to lay out the two pieces that have been cut from the planks. Put them along with each other so that a rectangle is created with a width of 12 centimeters and a length equal to the height of your head to your buttocks. Secure one of the 2 by 4 beam pieces with screws in the center of the wood planks in order to connect them together. Use an electric screwdriver to tighten eight three-inch screws through both the 6-by-2 and 2-by-4 pieces. You should do this by placing four screws on each of the 6 by 2 planks of wood.

Attach two more than 2 by 4 pieces, one on each side of the planks. Put one of the 2 by 4 pieces on the plank and make sure it is an inch away from the edge. Tighten eight three-inch screws again as described in the previous step. Fix two other 2-by-4 pieces on the other side of the board as well. By now you should have three 2 by 4 beam pieces, which fit the 6 by 2 plank pieces in the middle.

Step 4 – Fixing the legs of the bench

In order to make the legs of your home gym bench, you need to lay a twelve inches piece of the 2×4 beam so that it is perpendicular to a corner of the bench. You should attach the leg to the 2-by-4 piece that you previously attached to the edge of the bench. Hold your leg firmly in place by screwing through the top of your home gym bench. Repeat this same procedure to fix the other three legs of the bench.
